Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born 6 May 1964. He is an actor from Denmark who has played Troels Hartmann Copenhagen's mayoral candidate in The Killing. He was also a key character in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock, where he played blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award. His role in Danish television drama Herrens Veje earned him an International Emmy Award. The show was broadcast in the UK in 2019, as Ride Upon the Storm.
