Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on the 19th of June, 1978. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Asalia Nazario and aridio Saldana. Her mother is from Puerto Rico and her father was Dominican. Her family relocated from Queens, New York and to the Dominican Republic when she was 10, and lived there for seven years. Zoe began to develop a fascination for dance performance while living within the Republic of Dominicana. Her first training was with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet and other forms of dance.
