Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He was one of the members of One Direction. He was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England in February 1994, and is the daughter of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, where his schoolmates and he were part of a group called White Eskimo. They won the Battle of Bands in 2009, thanks to their outstanding performances. The musician always had an interest for music. He wanted to become a lawyer or physical therapist. At one point, he worked part-time in a bakery in the city he lived in and hoped to assist people financially in the home. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition when he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. For that reason his band had to separate. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles that he be a member of a brand new group, One Direction. The others were Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this group. The group was formed in the year 2010. The group sang the Kelly Clarkson song My Life Would Be Sucky without You as well as Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart in the contest, which allowed them to be among the leaders. The group finished in third position in the competition, behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle which won. Harry Styles' group didn't place, however Cowell still paid 2 million dollars to One Direction for them to agree to a contract with Syco.
